    From February 2023 (Volume 23, Issue 1), the title of the Bosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences will be changed to Biomolecules and Biomedicine. The new title reflects the increasing number of published research done on the subcellular/molecular level as well as translational and clinical research contained in the term Biomedicine. Biomolecules and Biomedicine will continue to be published by the Association of Basic Medical Sciences of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • 14th Bryan Warren School of Pathology: Soft Tissue Pathology

    14th Bryan Warren School of Pathology will go virtual (Zoom Platform) on 6th November 2021.

    The School is organized jointly by the British Division of the International Academy of Pathology (BDIAP), and the Association of Basic Medical Sciences FBIH.

    The lecturers will be two renowned, world-class soft tissue pathologists Prof. Cyril Fisher, Consultant Histopathologist and Emeritus Professor of Tumour Pathology (University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London) and Dr. Khin Thway (Consultant Histopathologist and Reader (Assoc Professor) in Translational Pathology, the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London).

  • New Journal Impact Factor (2019) for BJBMS

    We are proud to announce that the Journal Impact Factor® for BJBMS has increased over the last year. The new BJBMS’s Impact Factor (2019) is 2.05. 

    The increase in impact factor reflects the exacting standards met by the research the journal publishes. The impact factor is determined using the number of citations received in that year by articles published in the journal during the two preceding years, and is calculated by Clarivate Analytics (formerly known as Thomson Reuters), a recognized authority for evaluating the usefulness of a journal.

    The Association of Basic Medical Sciences would like to thank the Editorial Board, authors and all the reviewers for their tremendous hard work and dedication in ensuring that BJBMS continue with influential publications, enabling its community to advance medical research and education for the public benefit. In the upcoming years, we will work even harder to increase our rate of progress.

  • The 14th Bryan Warren School of Pathology (BWSP) postponed

    The 14th Bryan Warren School of Pathology (BWSP) on soft tissue pathology scheduled for early November 2020 in Sarajevo has regrettably had to be postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have made the decision to postpone the event in Sarajevo until spring 2021.

    The Association of Basic Medical Sciences of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the British Division of the International Academy of Pathology (BDIAP) will announce the updates regarding the exact time of the 14th BWSP.

  • An increase in Impact Factor expected

    We are pleased to announce that, based on calculations, an estimated Journal Impact Factor (2019) for BJBMS is higher than 2.0, making a more than a 20% increase from 2018.

    The Journal Impact Factor, as published yearly starting from 1975 in the Journal Citation Reports, measures the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year by the research community through the delivery of a publisher-independent data, metrics, and analysis of the world’s most important journals included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), part of the Web of Science Core Collection.

  • Dimensions metrics implemented

    Bosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences has implemented article level metrics for each of the published articles.

    Dimension and PlumX metrics include not only citations to an article, but also usage, captures, mentions, social media, field citation ratio and relative citation ratio for the particular article. These metrics improve transparency and may help the readers get insight into the article's impact in the field. Find the article level metrics below articles' abstracts.

  • New Journal Impact Factor® and CiteScore® for Bosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences

    21-06-2019

    The 2019 issue of the Journal Citation Reports® (citations in Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics) brings good news for the Bosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences. The Journal Impact Factor® was continuously rising in the last few years, and for the year 2018 it has increased to 1.458. Article immediacy index has risen from 0.143 to 0.784. The total number of citations in 2018 has increased by more than 22% compared to last year. 86% of the articles published in 2016-2017 had been cited at least once in 2018.

    In the 2019 CiteScore edition (citations in Scopus, ELSEVIER) the Bosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences ranked #87 out of 556 journals in the General Medicine category. This puts the Journal on the 84th percentile in its category. The CiteScore for 2018 equals 1.43.

    The Blog is intended to enrich the communication between the authors, editors, broad biomedical and non-biomedical community and media.

    Readers will have an opportunity to comment and discuss the studies, as well different aspects and issues related to the Journal.
